Suncheon City Hosts Health Walking & Running Event to Wish for the Successful Hosting of the Jeonnam Sports Festival
Competition to be Held Online for 12 Days from January 3 to 14 Next Year
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 30th that it will hold the "2022 Jeonnam Sports Festival Success Prayer Healthy Walking & Running Competition" in a non-face-to-face format for 12 days from January 3 to 14 next year.
This event, hosted by the Suncheon City Sports Council, will be conducted in a non-face-to-face manner to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It is designed to invigorate citizens' daily lives through walking and running and to pray for the successful hosting of next year's Jeonnam Sports Festival.
The competition will be held by walking or running 5km at a location and time of the participant's choice, such as the Shindae Ecological Corridor Trail or the Jorye Lake Park Trail.
The number of participants is limited to the first 800 applicants, and applications can be submitted via email or phone until the end of the competition period.
The participation fee is 20,000 KRW per person, and all participants will receive a smartwatch. Additionally, prizes such as microwaves and air fryers will be awarded through a lottery.

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Sports Festival to be held in Suncheon City next year is scheduled to take place from April 22 to 25 at various venues, including Palma Sports Complex.
