Hi Investment & Securities Appoints Hong Won-sik as New CEO
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Hi Investment & Securities announced on the 30th that it has completed the appointment process of the new CEO, Hong Won-sik.
Hi Investment & Securities held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders at 9 a.m. on the same day at the International Conference Room of the Seoul Banking Hall and appointed Director Hong Won-sik as the new inside director. His term will last until the regular shareholders' meeting in March 2024.
CEO Hong Won-sik was previously recommended as a candidate for CEO of Hi Investment & Securities by the DGB Financial Group Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee. After verifying qualifications, he was finally recommended as the CEO candidate by the Hi Investment & Securities Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee on the 9th.

Born in 1964, CEO Hong Won-sik graduated from Korea University with a degree in law and earned a master's degree in business administration from Carnegie Mellon University. He worked at the International Business Division of the Securities Supervisory Bureau, the predecessor of the current Financial Supervisory Service, and the International Finance Team at LG Investment & Securities. From September 2008, he served as Executive Director of Strategic Management and Head of Management Infrastructure at E*Trade Securities. He also served as CEO of eBest Investment & Securities for six years from 2013 to 2019.
