GS25 Expands 'Local Specialty Stores' in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province
Joining Forces to Strengthen Corporate Brands and Revitalize Urban Tourism
Promotion of Goyang City's Mascot Character 'Goyang Goyangi'
On the 29th, GS25 announced on the 30th that it signed a business agreement with Goyang City at Goyang City Hall in Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, attended by Oh Jin-seok, Head of GS Retail Platform B/U, Lee Jae-jun, Mayor of Goyang, and others, to strengthen corporate branding and revitalize urban tourism.
Through the agreement, both parties agreed to jointly promote projects focusing on ▲discovering and implementing joint projects to strengthen city and corporate brands ▲opening regionally specialized stores ▲activating Goyang City's mascot character 'Goyang Goyangi' ▲developing local tourism products.
As a member of the local community, GS25 aims to enhance a friendly image and brand value among Goyang residents, while Goyang City plans to strengthen local promotion and develop the local economy using the Goyang Goyangi character based on about 280 GS25 stores in the area.
GS25 will first attach local promotional slogans and posters to most GS25 stores in Goyang City and plans to introduce additional regionally specialized flagship stores in Goyang by the first half of next year. In particular, by utilizing the Goyang Goyangi mascot character, GS25 will design stores and create dedicated photo zones, as well as add a tourism information center function that introduces tourist attractions, tourism themes, and travel stories for visitors to Goyang City. Furthermore, GS25 intends to take the lead in practicing sustainable management that grows together with the local community through future connections with tourism special zones and other regions.
GS25 also expects to create synergy effects with Goyang City and revitalize local tourism through collaboration products, souvenirs, goods, and event planning using the Goyang Goyangi character.
