Samsung's 'Galaxy S22' to Include 1TB Option
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] It is anticipated that Samsung Electronics' next-generation flagship smartphone series, the 'Galaxy S22,' expected to launch in February next year, will support up to 1 terabyte (TB) of storage.
On the 29th (local time), IT specialized media GSM Arena and others reported that Samsung Electronics will add a 1TB storage option to the top-tier Ultra (Note) model of the S22 series.
Previously, Samsung Electronics released the 'Galaxy S10 Plus (+)' model in 2019 with 12GB RAM and a 1TB model, but since then, 512GB has been the maximum capacity. The previous 'Galaxy S21' series also had a maximum storage capacity of 512GB. Meanwhile, since Apple added a 1TB model to its ‘iPhone 13’ series Pro line released this year, there have been expectations that Samsung Electronics will also introduce a 1TB product. However, unlike the S10+, which supported storage expansion via a microSD card slot, the S22 series is expected not to support storage expansion through SD cards.
The top-tier S22 Ultra model is expected to be offered in ▲12GB RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage models ▲16GB RAM with 512GB and 1TB models. The standard S22 and Plus models are expected to launch with 8GB RAM and 128GB and 256GB storage models. The price of the 1TB model has not yet been disclosed.
