Gyeongsang National University, Recruiting 651 Transfer Students for 2022 Academic Year

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongsang National University will accept online applications for transfer students for the 2022 academic year from January 2 to January 6, 2022 (until 6 PM), for both Gyeongsang National University and the former Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology.
The total number of transfer students to be admitted for the 2022 academic year at Gyeongsang National University is 651, including 471 general transfers, up to 60 bachelor’s degree holders, up to 90 university-linked course students, 14 rural students, 15 graduates of specialized high schools, and 1 employed person.
The eligibility criteria for general transfer admission are: ▲ those who have completed (or are expected to complete) at least two years or four semesters (excluding seasonal semesters) at a university (including broadcasting and communication universities, industrial universities, etc.) and have earned the required credits recognized by the previous university (credits earned during the 2021 winter seasonal semester are included, but completion of two full years is not recognized); ▲ those who have graduated from a junior college or are recognized by law as having equivalent or higher academic qualifications; ▲ those who have obtained (or are expected to obtain) an associate degree under the Credit Recognition Act and the Lifelong Education Act, or those who have earned at least 80 credits in a bachelor's degree program.
The eligibility criteria for bachelor’s degree transfer admission are those who have obtained (or are expected to obtain) a bachelor's degree or are recognized by other laws as having equivalent or higher academic qualifications.
Students in university and junior college linked educational programs must meet the general transfer admission qualifications and: ▲ have entered a junior college (Changwon Moonsung University) that has signed a prior educational linkage agreement with Gyeongsang National University and obtained (or are expected to obtain) an associate degree after the application of the linked curriculum from 2019 onward; ▲ have completed at least four linked curriculum courses (12 credits or more) and be able to submit a certificate of completion of the linked curriculum from their previous institution.
Applicants to the Department of Veterinary Medicine must satisfy one of the official English proficiency scores: TOEIC (800 points), TEPS (637 points), New-TEPS (348 points), or TOEFL iBT (91 points), and must have no disqualifications as a veterinarian under the 「Veterinarian Act」.
Gyeongsang National University stated, “Notices and changes or additions related to the admission process will not be individually notified but will be announced on the Gyeongsang National University admission website (http://newgh.gnu.ac.kr), so applicants should frequently check during the application period.” They also explained, “Transfer admissions are for the first semester of the third year (for the Department of Veterinary Medicine, the first semester of the first year of the professional course), and students must earn the graduation credits prescribed by the school regulations after transfer to graduate.” Furthermore, they emphasized that applicants cannot apply to more than one admission track and can only apply to one recruitment group.
