KakaoBank Revamps Smart Withdrawal Service: "Easy Withdrawals with QR Authentication Only"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] KakaoBank announced on the 29th that it has revamped its Smart Withdrawal service to allow cash withdrawals at ATMs using only QR code authentication.
KakaoBank Smart Withdrawal is a feature that enables cash withdrawal at ATMs using only the KakaoBank mobile application (app) without the need to carry a card.
Previously, to use the KakaoBank Smart Withdrawal service, users had to generate a withdrawal authentication number in the KakaoBank app and manually enter the KakaoBank account number to withdraw from, the withdrawal authentication number, and the withdrawal amount at the ATM. KakaoBank introduced the revamped Smart Withdrawal service that allows withdrawals at ATMs using only QR code authentication, making it simpler and safer for customers to use.
With the revamped service, users simply scan the QR code displayed on the ATM, enter the withdrawal amount and authentication password in the KakaoBank app, and the withdrawal is completed.
The KakaoBank Smart Withdrawal service allows registration of only one account, either a KakaoBank deposit/withdrawal account or a mini account, and account registration, deletion, or changes to the registered account can be made only once per day.
Additionally, KakaoBank has expanded the availability of the Smart Withdrawal service from the existing CU convenience stores and Lotte retail stores (Seven Eleven, Lotte Mart, Lotte Department Store, Lotte Cinema, etc.) to include GS25 and Ministop, enabling customers to use the Smart Withdrawal service at convenience stores nationwide.
