Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Announces Design Contest for '2022 Year of Youth Books' Promotional Materials
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is holding the "2022 Youth Book Year Promotion Design Contest" from the 28th of this month to the 24th of next month, in celebration of the "2022 Youth Book Year," together with the "2022 Youth Book Year Promotion Team."
The contest categories are ▲Slogan ▲Symbol (Emblem) ▲Poster, totaling three categories. Any citizen of the Republic of Korea can participate regardless of age. The entries should creatively express the meaning and value that "books" hold for youth in celebration of the "Youth Book Year," using imaginative ideas and creativity. Submissions can be made via email.
The awards include one grand prize, three excellence awards, and five encouragement awards per category, totaling 27 works, with a total prize money of 18 million KRW. The winning works will be announced in early February next year and may be adopted as the official promotional design for the "2022 Youth Book Year." A policy official from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated, "Youth are both producers and consumers of book culture industries and are the main drivers of future book culture. Through next year's 'Book Year,' we hope they develop the basic literacy to understand and communicate with themselves, others, and society, as well as the creative and cultural capabilities to lead future society." He added, "We especially hope many young people participate in this contest and fully demonstrate their passion."
