Government to Issue 13 Trillion KRW in Treasury Bonds Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 27th that it plans to issue government bonds worth 13 trillion won through a competitive bidding process in January next year.
This amount is slightly less than one-twelfth of the annual government bond issuance limit for next year (166 trillion won).
The planned issuance amounts by maturity are 900 billion won for 2-year bonds, 2.5 trillion won for 3-year bonds, 2.5 trillion won for 5-year bonds, 2.6 trillion won for 10-year bonds, 800 billion won for 20-year bonds, 3.3 trillion won for 30-year bonds, and 400 billion won for 50-year bonds.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance had previously announced in the "2022 Government Bond Issuance Plan" released on the 24th that it would reduce the issuance ratio of short-term bonds (2- and 3-year) from 30% to 25%, and increase the issuance ratio of long-term bonds (20 years or more) from 30% to 35%.
