Former Austrian Prime Minister to Work in US Silicon Valley Starting Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The former Austrian Chancellor, who is under investigation by prosecutors for corruption charges, is scheduled to start working at an investment firm in Silicon Valley, USA, from next year.
According to the Austrian local media Kronen Zeitung on the 25th (local time), Sebastian Kurz is reported to begin his new position in February next year. He is expected to live between San Francisco, USA, Vienna, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
However, the name of his new employer has not been disclosed.
Previously, Kurz resigned from his chancellor position on October 9th after prosecutors launched an investigation into bribery and breach of trust charges.
He is accused of using Ministry of Finance funds as advertising expenses for a newspaper between 2016 and 2018 to secure favorable coverage for himself.

Although he denied these allegations, he resigned from the chancellor position in October under pressure from the Green Party, his coalition partner. Subsequently, he announced his retirement from politics on the 2nd of this month.
