94 Busan City Senior Officials New Year Greetings... Keywords: Rewarding Contributions, Organizational Stability, Female Appointments
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City has carried out personnel appointments for 94 senior officials at the director level and above, effective January 1 next year.
There are a total of 41 promotions in rank, including 6 at grade 3 and 35 at grade 4, and 53 transfers and secondments, including 8 at grade 3 and 45 at grade 4.
According to Busan City, this personnel reshuffle aimed to stabilize the organization by limiting the scope of personnel changes so that the 38th Busan administration, launched last April, can achieve results, while placing personnel in the right positions.
Additionally, executives who achieved work performance while handling urgent tasks such as COVID-19 were boldly selected and rewarded, and in terms of transfers, professional personnel with innovation capabilities were assigned to key departments.
Grade 3 director-level positions were assigned mainly to vacant positions, considering work experience and expertise.
Shim Jae-min, Head of the New Airport Promotion Headquarters, was appointed as Planning Officer; Cho Young-tae, Director of the Social Welfare Bureau, as Director of the Transportation Bureau; Song Gwang-haeng, Head of Investment Attraction at the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority, as Head of the New Airport Promotion Headquarters; Park Jin-ok, Director of the Transportation Bureau, as Head of the Waterworks Business Headquarters; Hong Kyung-hee, Deputy District Mayor of Dongnae District, as Head of the Nakdong River Management Headquarters; and Jung Young-ran, Head of the Nakdong River Management Headquarters, was horizontally transferred to Head of Investment Attraction at the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority.
Lee Seon-ah, General Affairs Division Chief, was promoted and appointed as Director of the Social Welfare Bureau, and Kim Yoo-jin, Economic and Job Creation Division Chief, was promoted and appointed as Director of the Maritime Agriculture and Fisheries Bureau.
Also, Lee Yong-joo, Local Deputy Director, moved to Deputy District Mayor of Suyeong District; Im Chang-geun, Integrity Audit Officer, was promoted and appointed as Deputy District Mayor of Dongnae District; and Lee Byung-seok, Clear Water Policy Division Chief, was promoted and appointed as Deputy District Mayor of Saha District.
At the grade 4 manager level, executives who achieved results in their respective fields such as small business support, investment attraction, COVID-19 response, taxi administration, and tourism promotion were selected.
Busan City, where the proportion of female public officials in managerial positions at grade 5 and above is the highest nationwide at 36.7%, promoted a large number of female executives in this personnel reshuffle for grade 4 and above, including 2 at grade 3 and 11 at grade 4, totaling 13 women.
