Highly Rated for Providing Customized Services to Eliminate Welfare Blind Spots

Gokseong-gun Selected as an Excellent Institution for Jeonnam Regional Autonomous Social Service Investment Project

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jongseon] Gokseong-gun announced on the 24th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the ‘2021 Regional Autonomous Social Service Investment Project Performance Evaluation’ conducted by Jeollanam-do targeting 22 cities and counties.

In this evaluation, Gokseong-gun was highly rated for providing customized services tailored to the characteristics of users to eliminate welfare blind spots. Efforts to prevent fraudulent claims, on-site inspections of service providers, and smooth project implementation amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic also received good scores.

As an incentive for being selected as an excellent institution, Gokseong-gun will receive an additional 30 million KRW in project funds for 2022, enabling it to provide more welfare services to residents.

The Regional Social Service Investment Project is a program that provides vouchers so that users can choose the welfare services they want.

When welfare service providers develop social services suited to regional characteristics and resident demand, users select the services they need.

It has the advantage of providing customized services, departing from the existing state-led welfare service provision method.

In Gokseong-gun, nine services related to children, adolescents, and the elderly are being operated.

A county official said, “There were difficulties such as closures of service locations and suspension of classes due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. However, through active measures such as recruiting additional participants for programs that could proceed, we were able to achieve good results. We will continue to strive to ensure that residents can safely use the customized services they need.”
