The delivery ceremony held the day before at the head office in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by Kwon Kwang-seok, President of Woori Bank, and Lee Hun-gyu, Chairman of Children and Future Foundation.
The support fund will be used for a coding education project targeting elementary school students in rural farming and fishing villages with low ICT (Information and Communication Technology) accessibility due to a lack of digital infrastructure and educational personnel. It is expected to greatly help not only in closing the digital education gap for children in rural areas but also in strengthening their basic competencies as future digital talents.
Woori Bank, together with Children and Future Foundation, plans to implement education tailored to coding beginners using a virtual robot simulation-based learning system. After the education ends, a coding competition will be held with 2 to 3 outstanding children from each participating school, providing digital dreamers with opportunities to fully demonstrate their capabilities.
