Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Appoints Kim Jeong-hee as Chief of Staff... First Female Level 1 Official Since Establishment
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 24th that Kim Jeonghee, Director of Agricultural Policy Bureau, has been appointed as Director of Planning and Coordination Office. This is the first time since its establishment in 1948 that a female first-grade public official has been appointed.
Director Kim graduated from Yeongdong Girls' High School in Seoul and Ewha Womans University with a degree in law, and entered public service by passing the 38th Administrative Examination in 1995. Since then, she has held key positions such as Policy Planning Officer, Distribution and Consumer Policy Officer, and Director of Agricultural Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
She has served as the Ministry's first female assistant officer, first female section chief, and first female bureau director.
