[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City Urban Corporation (President Jeong Mingon) donated 5 million won to the Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign through the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.
The donation ceremony was held on the 23rd at the Sharing Culture Center of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, attended by Jeong Mingon, President of Gwangju Urban Corporation, Kim Hoon, Director of Planning and Strategy, and Han Sangwon, Chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.
Since 2006, Gwangju Urban Corporation has been consistently practicing sharing through the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea for the development of local community welfare, serving as a role model for those around them.
President Jeong Mingon stated, “As COVID-19 prolongs, the local community is experiencing many difficulties. Although small, we will continue to practice sharing to be a source of strength for our neighbors.”
Meanwhile, the Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign, launched by the Community Chest of Korea on the 1st of this month, allows participation through ▲donations via KBS, MBC, and KBC broadcasting stations ▲donations through the social welfare departments of Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall and five district offices ▲donations through neighborhood community centers and local community security councils ▲joining the Honor Society (individual high-value donor club) ▲signing up for Good Stores and Good Workplace regular donations ▲ARS phone donations ▲QR code and simple payment ▲designated donations and in-kind donations.
Additionally, sharing can be participated in through online fundraising on the Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae website, and donation consultations can be made by contacting the fundraising team of the Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae Secretariat.
◆ Gwangju Environment Corporation, Voluntary Employee Fundraising Donation of 3.38 Million Won
Gwangju Environment Corporation (Chairman Kim Kangyeol) delivered 3.38 million won raised by its employees to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Han Sangwon).
The donation ceremony held the previous day was attended by Lee Seongdo, Secretary General of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, Park Jaeu, Executive Director of Gwangju Environment Corporation, and employees.
About 200 employees voluntarily raised funds to support neighbors in care who are enduring a harsher winter due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, continuing the warm hearts of employees from last year into this year.
Meanwhile, Gwangju Environment Corporation is known to be carrying out various social contribution activities such as donations, public facility disinfection support, and signing agreements for local environmental volunteer work for the development of the environment and local community welfare.
