The Taiwan International Educational Travel Alliance 2.0 is a policy implementation body for activating international exchanges, composed of current principals in Taiwan. Through this agreement, both organizations will actively cooperate to normalize mutual visits and exchanges between Korean and Taiwanese school trip groups early after COVID-19, and will promote various projects such as supporting the attraction of overseas school trip groups and matching schools for exchange.
In particular, during the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to further strengthen the online school trip program to maintain uninterrupted exchanges between Korean and Taiwanese students. The online school trip program has been conducted by the Korea Tourism Organization’s Taipei office since March. Korean and Taiwanese students learn each other's language and culture in real time online, engage in virtual exchanges, and indirectly experience Korean history, food culture, IT technology, and Hallyu.
The online school trip program has gained great popularity locally, with over 3,900 Taiwanese students from 18 schools participating so far. After signing the business agreement, the Korea Tourism Organization plans to actively promote the program through briefings for Taiwanese education officials and media, and also plans to hold a familiarization tour inviting principals after the pandemic.
