SPC Group Delivers Happy Point Cards to Children at Risk of Food Insecurity During Winter Break
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] SPC Group announced on the 23rd that it has provided Happy Points worth 40 million KRW to children at risk of food insecurity.
SPC Group, in collaboration with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, delivered Happy Points accumulation cards to 310 children from low-income families and 30 child welfare facilities in the Ulsan area. Through this support, children who are unable to receive meal support due to COVID-19 related school attendance restrictions and the start of winter vacation will be able to use the points like cash at over 7,000 SPC Group stores nationwide, including Paris Baguette, Dunkin, Baskin Robbins, and Bizeun.
Meanwhile, the ‘Happy Points Support Project’ is a program run together with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation that provides Happy Points to children at risk of food insecurity during school vacations. Since 2017, it has supported approximately 9,600 children over 11 sessions, providing Happy Points worth about 500 million KRW each vacation.
Yeo Seung-su, head of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, said, “The Happy Points card, which can be used at various locations, will greatly help children have a warm winter vacation,” adding, “We hope that interest will continue so that children can grow up healthily.”

An SPC Group official stated, “Through this Happy Points support, we hope children who have been left in welfare blind spots due to social distancing can enjoy a joyful vacation,” and added, “We will continue to plan various welfare programs and promote a culture of sharing to fulfill our corporate social responsibility.”
