Pulmuone Strengthens Plant-Based Meat Quality through Collaboration on 'Plant-Based Structured Protein' Research

Pulmuone's R&D center, Pulmuone Technology Institute, announced on the 23rd that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the global IFF Korea Danisco Nutrition and Bioscience to collaborate on the development of plant-based alternative meat products aimed at "realizing and improving the quality of plant-based textured protein."
The signing ceremony was held online with the attendance of Lee Sang-yoon, director of Pulmuone Technology Institute, Jung Sung-woon, executive director of IFF Korea, and other related personnel from both sides. Through this agreement, both parties will establish a mutual cooperation system to improve the quality of plant-based alternative meat. Pulmuone, which has led the plant-based protein food business, will leverage its alternative meat development facilities and technological capabilities, while IFF will contribute its expertise in plant-based textured protein (TVP) raw materials and research information exchange to jointly develop plant-based alternative meat products.
According to the agreement, both parties will cooperate on ▲ raw material and technical support for realizing the texture of TVP ▲ raw material and technical support for controlling TVP's image and off-flavors ▲ exchange of research information and joint hosting of seminars ▲ and other necessary matters to achieve the purpose of this agreement. Pulmuone expects to introduce plant-based alternative meat that is even closer to real meat to consumers through this collaboration.
