Hwasun-gun to Promote 'Next Year's Disaster Prevention and Water Control Facility Projects'... Secures 69.4 Billion Won

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) has secured the largest-ever budget for next year's rural living environment improvement, disaster prevention, and new water facility projects and will proceed accordingly.

According to the county on the 22nd, the county has discovered 13 new projects for next year, secured national funding, and plans to invest a total project cost of 69.4 billion KRW by 2025.

Since early this year, the county analyzed government policy trends and budget allocation directions, established a budget securing strategy, and actively proposed the necessity of the projects by visiting central government departments and the National Assembly to secure the project funds.

The county was selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs projects ▲ Hwasun-eup Linked Eastern Living Area Rural Agreement (total project cost 45 billion KRW) ▲ Sapyeong District Large-scale Land Readjustment (5.5 billion KRW).

Efforts to secure disaster prevention project funds resulted in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety including major projects such as ▲ Disaster Risk Improvement District (5 billion KRW) ▲ Steep Slope Collapse Risk (1.1 billion KRW) ▲ Disaster Risk Reservoir Maintenance for 3 sites (7.2 billion KRW) ▲ Water Facilities for 3 sites (3.3 billion KRW).

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety Fire Safety Division also secured special grant funds for ▲ Disaster Risk Bridges (1.5 billion KRW) ▲ Two Small-scale Risk Facilities (800 million KRW).

A county official said, “Based on this national funding achievement, we will rapidly expand infrastructure closely related to daily life and significantly improve the quality of life for residents.”
