Yeonggwang-gun Completes 'Beopseongpo Gulbi Street' Development Project
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 21st that the 'Yeonggwang Beopseongpo Gulbi Street' was selected in May 2019 for the premium Namdo Food Street creation contest promoted by Jeollanam-do, and the project was completed this month.
The Yeonggwang Beopseongpo Gulbi Street development project installed symbolic structures and photo zones of Gulbi Street to establish the area, known as the hometown of gulbi (dried yellow corvina), as a food tourism destination for visitors.
To enhance tourist convenience, walking paths were improved and a park was created.
Additionally, signs, indoor menus, and window decals were refurbished at 42 restaurants to improve both interior and exterior environments, creating a more pleasant and clean atmosphere, which brought great satisfaction to the business owners.
One restaurant owner said, "The restaurant signs, indoor menus, and exterior decal designs harmonize well, making the signs clear and visible from afar," and added, "I am very grateful that Beopseongpo is reborn as a premium gulbi city."
A county official stated, "We plan to conduct one-on-one consulting and customer service training for restaurants to make the gulbi set meal the best food tourism product representing the taste of Namdo," and added, "We will do our best to enhance the premium status of Yeonggwang Beopseongpo Gulbi Street."
