KB Kookmin Bank Completes Trial Development of Multi-Asset Digital Wallet
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 21st that it has successfully completed the pilot development of a blockchain-based 'Multi-Asset Digital Wallet.'
The newly developed Multi-Asset Digital Wallet is the first in the financial sector and was developed based on Klaytn, the blockchain platform used in the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) pilot experiment conducted by the Bank of Korea.
The Multi-Asset Digital Wallet enables charging, remittance, and payment of various digital assets including CBDC, virtual assets, local currencies, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
This development, driven by KB Kookmin Bank's own technology, has secured core technologies related to digital assets, thereby establishing differentiated competitiveness.

A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, "Based on the blockchain wallet technology secured through this pilot development, we will actively participate in next year's Bank of Korea CBDC pilot experiment linkage test," adding, "We plan to gradually advance the Multi-Asset Digital Wallet by adding functions such as digital ID, smart keys, and electronic documents in the future."
