IBK, 500 Million KRW in Medical Expenses Donated to Families of SME Workers
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 21st that it has provided 500 million KRW in medical expenses to 123 families of SME workers suffering from rare and intractable diseases.
Through the medical expense support, Lee Min-jae (alias, 8 years old), who has been battling cerebral palsy for 8 years, and Lee Young-ja (alias, 35 years old), who is undergoing chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation for leukemia, received assistance.
Since 2006, IBK Industrial Bank has established the IBK Happiness Sharing Foundation to improve the welfare of SME workers and has contributed a total of 53.5 billion KRW in funds to date.
It has supported medical expenses totaling 13 billion KRW for 3,032 families of workers battling rare and intractable diseases. Additionally, it continues social contribution activities such as sponsoring scholarships worth 16.8 billion KRW for about 9,600 children of workers from financially disadvantaged families.
