One More COVID-19 Death Reported in Gwangju...Total Deaths Reach 35
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] One more death from the COVID-19 virus was reported in Gwangju, bringing the total number of deaths to 35.
According to Gwangju City on the 20th, patient number 6009, who was receiving treatment at Chonnam National University Hospital, passed away around 2 a.m. on the 18th.
This patient, in their 80s, had been confirmed positive on the 23rd of last month with an unknown infection route and had been undergoing treatment, but was confirmed to have died on the 18th.
Gwangju City will conduct the funeral following COVID-19 funeral guidelines, with cremation first and then the funeral. Funeral expenses will be fully covered by the national government.
Meanwhile, as of 2 p.m. on the same day, 53 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Gwangju.
