Exchange Closed on 31st; Opens at 10 AM on January 3rd Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] The Korea Exchange announced on the 20th that December 31 will be designated as a year-end holiday. Next year's regular trading hours for the securities and derivatives markets will begin at 10 a.m. on January 3.
This year, the securities and derivatives markets will operate until the 30th. The ex-dividend date for listed companies is the 29th. If stocks are purchased by the 28th, dividends from listed companies with a settlement dividend record date set at the end of this month can be received.
However, over-the-counter derivatives CCP clearing and TR reporting operations will continue as usual without a year-end holiday.
Also, the opening day next year is January 3, and the regular trading hours for the securities and derivatives markets will be delayed by one hour, opening at 10 a.m. The closing time remains the same as the current schedule.
