Gmarket-Auction, Second Half New Developer Recruitment ... "No Restrictions on Education or Major"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Gmarket and Auction, now part of the Shinsegae Group, are publicly recruiting new developers for the second half of the year until the 28th. They plan to double the hiring scale compared to last year and begin full-scale steps toward integrated online and offline commerce.
Under the slogan "Open the next horizon," this new developer recruitment seeks double-digit numbers of talents in five major development roles including app development, frontend, and backend. There is no document screening, and the recruitment is conducted through a 100% blind hiring process that does not require academic background, major, or other document-based specifications upon application.
The application process is also simple: by entering only basic information such as name, application field, and contact details on the official recruitment site, all applicants will take a coding test in a groundbreaking approach. This departs from the previous method where only those who passed document screening took the coding test, allowing all applicants to demonstrate their technical skills. It signifies prioritizing practical capabilities over documented specs. Additionally, applicants do not choose a specific role but are assigned to the most suitable position after hiring.
Only those who pass the coding test will be interviewed in January next year, and the results will be individually notified to successful candidates. The final successful applicants are expected to join by the end of January.
This recruitment also reflects the intention to create a new commerce market through the synergy of Gmarket and Auction, traditional online leaders, and Emart, a traditional offline leader, together with new talent. Gmarket and Auction will maintain the horizontal working environment and culture of the former eBay Korea while providing competitive compensation packages for developers, including basic rewards and long-term performance bonuses, in line with market changes.

We hope many ambitious new developers will apply to design the new future of Korean commerce along with competitive compensation."
