Mokpo City Council Regular Session Concludes '36-Day Journey'

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] The Mokpo City Council of Jeollanam-do (Chairman Park Changsoo) concluded the 370th 2nd regular session, which was held for 36 days from the 12th of last month to December 17th.
On the 17th, the council announced that during this regular session, they handled the 2021 Mokpo City administrative audit, municipal questions, the review and resolution of the 5th supplementary budget for 2021 and the 2022 budget proposal, as well as general committee agenda items.
During the administrative audit held over 9 days, they requested improvements on a total of 143 issues, including 74 municipal corrections and 69 recommendations, covering the overall municipal administration such as the resident participation budget.
Following that, a total of five council members raised issues and proposed alternatives in various fields directly related to citizens' livelihoods, such as Mokpo City's urban planning, making it a meaningful time to gather wisdom together for regional development.
The Budget and Accounts Committee (Chairman Kim Hyuhwan) made meticulous efforts to approve a reasonable and sound budget by cutting 2.343 billion KRW from the expenditure sector during the review of next year's budget proposal.
There were a total of 68 agenda items, of which 49 were approved as originally proposed, 16 were approved with modifications, and 3 received other opinions after review and resolution.

Chairman Park Changsoo said in his closing remarks, "The Local Autonomy Act has been fully revised for the first time in 32 years and is scheduled to be implemented on January 13th next year. We will do our best to ensure that the new system is established early."
