Assemblyman Lee Gae-ho Receives Positive Comment Award for 'Beautiful Words' Chosen by Youth
Second Honor Following 2017
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Congressman Lee Gae-ho (The Democratic Party of Korea, Damyang·Hampyeong·Yeonggwang·Jangseong) received the ‘8th Beautiful Words National Assembly Member Sunple Award’ hosted by the Sunple Foundation and the National Assembly Sunple Committee on the 16th.
Congressman Lee previously received the Sunple Award in 2017, making this his second time receiving the honor.
This National Assembly Member Sunple Award was selected and presented by the ‘National Youth Sunple SNS Reporters Corps,’ consisting of about 300 high school and university students.
The students analyzed the records of speeches made in the plenary sessions and standing committees recorded in the National Assembly minutes system for two months starting from September last year to select the National Assembly members who use beautiful words.
The Sunple Foundation and the Sunple Movement Headquarters have been working since 2007 to spread positive energy in our society by encouraging the posting of positive comments that give courage and hope to those hurt by malicious comments, promoting ‘respect for life and human rights,’ and fostering an internet culture of support and consideration.
The selection of the National Assembly Member Beautiful Words Sunple Award started with the purpose of having the political sphere set an example in spreading this social atmosphere, and it has reached its 8th edition this year.
Congressman Lee said, “The Sunple Award, selected directly by our youth, is the award I have wanted to receive more than any other, as I have engaged in legislative activities with the belief that respect for one’s character and others comes from words and actions,” adding, “I will continue to do my best so that our society can move forward more brightly and positively through considerate and dignified language use.”
