[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Lee Seok-jun (25), who is accused of visiting the house of a woman he previously dated and killing her family, was handed over to the prosecution on the 17th.
Seoul Songpa Police Station transferred Lee, who is charged with murder and attempted murder, to the prosecution on the morning of the same day. Lee, who had been held in the Songpa police detention center, appeared before the media for the first time as he was escorted to the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office.
At around 7:45 a.m., Lee came out of the police station and stood at the photo line. When reporters asked questions such as "Did you originally plan to commit murder?" and "Do you have anything to say to the bereaved family?", he repeatedly said, "I'm sorry." When asked if he could remove his mask, he remained silent with his head bowed and only said, "I apologize for causing social unrest," before getting into the escort vehicle immediately.
Lee was arrested on the 12th on charges of wielding a weapon against the mother and younger brother of his ex-girlfriend A, whose villa in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, he visited on the afternoon of the 10th. They were immediately taken to the hospital, but the mother eventually passed away. The younger brother is still receiving treatment in the intensive care unit due to severe bleeding. Lee broke into a second-floor room of a neighboring house, hid in the master bedroom wardrobe, and was arrested on the spot 20 minutes after police arrived.
Before this crime, Lee was under police investigation for sexually assaulting and detaining A. However, the police judged that there was no urgency to obtain an arrest warrant and did not arrest him. After four days, Lee came up to Seoul and committed this crime. On the 14th, the police held a personal information disclosure review committee and released his face and personal information.

In previous police investigations, Lee stated that he "used a private investigation agency to find out A's address." The police confirmed that Lee illegally requested the victim's home address from a private investigation agency employee B during the preparation for the crime and obtained it. The police have booked B on charges including violation of the Personal Information Protection Act, arrested him the day before, and are investigating. The police are questioning B about the specific crime process and how the information was obtained, while also tracking down accomplices who provided personal information to him.
