LG Household & Health Care Introduces Beauty Bars and Powder Toothpaste with Reduced Plastic Packaging
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] LG Household & Health Care is strengthening its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management by launching 'Zero Waste Challenge' products aimed at reducing waste emissions to protect the environment.
On the 17th, LG Household & Health Care announced that it has joined the 'Zero Waste Challenge' by releasing three types of shampoo bars, body bars, facial bars with reduced plastic packaging and product volume, as well as powdered toothpaste.
LG Household & Health Care launched beauty bars and powdered toothpaste that reduce waste emissions under brands such as Dr. Groot, Elastine, Belmeur, and Himalaya Pink Salt. These products reflect the movement of customers who prioritize environmentally friendly consumption. The three beauty bars were developed in collaboration with the social enterprise 'Donggubat,' which creates products for a sustainable daily life involving both non-disabled and disabled individuals, adding meaningful value.
The beauty bars and powdered toothpaste are concentrated products that reduce volume while maintaining their original functions. The beauty bars are packaged in paper (pulp) instead of plastic and formulated with biodegradable ingredients to lessen environmental impact. In fact, a 100g beauty bar can be used for the same duration as 600g of liquid body wash or shampoo per single use, thereby reducing plastic usage.
The newly launched products include 'Belmeur Dead Sea Mud Body & Facial Bar,' 'Dr. Groot Scalp Scaling Shampoo Bar for Weak Hair,' 'Propolithera Shampoo Bar for Dry Hair,' and 'I Am Toothpaste (powdered toothpaste)'.
