Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters gifted kimchi for kimjang to vulnerable neighbors. This winter, it amounted to a total of 1,740 boxes.
On the 15th, Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters held a "Sharing Love Kimchi for Kimjang" event at the Gori Sports Culture Center in Gijang-gun, Busan. They donated 1,340 boxes of kimchi to seven volunteer organizations active in Gijang-gun. The 10 kg boxes were worth about 43 million won.
The kimchi donated that day was evenly distributed to basic livelihood security recipients' households, low-income elderly living alone, and North Korean defectors in five towns and townships within Gijang-gun.
The Sharing Love Kimchi for Kimjang event has been held annually with Gori Headquarters employees directly participating in making and gifting kimchi for kimjang, but this year, COVID-19 prevented that. Instead, they purchased finished kimchi products and delivered them directly to recipient households.
On the 6th, Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters also participated in the "Sharing Love Kimchi Festival" hosted by Busan City, supporting 400 boxes of 5 kg kimchi and 400 boxes of rice cake soup rice cakes to local children's centers and senior welfare centers.
