Korea-China Celebrity Curling Tournament to Be Held in Uijeongbu on the 16th and 17th

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] A Korea-China celebrity curling tournament to wish for the success of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Korea-China diplomatic relations will be held for two days on the 16th and 17th at the Uijeongbu Curling Stadium.
Held 50 days before the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics, this tournament features four teams from Korea and four teams from China. After the preliminary round on the 16th, two semifinal matches will be held on the morning of the 17th, followed by the final match at 3 PM.
From Korea, four teams will participate: a singer team, a fashion model team, a beauty pageant team, and a national team athlete team. The singer team consists of ballad singer Ji Sehee, actress Go Woori from Rainbow, trot singer Woo Hyunjung, singer-songwriter and vocal trainer So Kim, and sports model and broadcaster Kim Junghwa. The beauty pageant team, which won the celebrity curling tournament held last June, includes five members: Gajeongyeon, Kim Rosa, Seo Jinyeong, Lee Jeongyeon, and Moon Suhee. The fashion model team is composed of currently active models in various fields such as Go Ara, Kim Kang-eun, Kim Narim, Kim Dahi, and Kim Yubin.
The national team athlete team includes Kim Seongyeon, an active judo national team member who participated in the last Tokyo Olympics and is currently active in entertainment programs; Taekwondo athlete Kim Dasol; wrestling athlete Shin Jeonggyeong; field hockey player Seo Jeongeun; and Jo Eunarae, an announcer at Gwangju Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).
In China, four teams were formed with famous influencers. Wang Il, currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Seoul National University Graduate School of International Studies, served as an interpreter for China Central Television during the 2018 Inter-Korean Summit and as a VIP interpreter at the Alibaba corporate promotion hall during the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Cheongcheon is active in various fields, including as an advertising model and in JTBC2’s drama "Taming the Tomboy 2".

This tournament is hosted by Uijeongbu City and the Uijeongbu City Sports Council, and organized by Hanstar Media and China CCTV Seoul Branch. It is sponsored by Amorepacific, Bank of China, and Dongyang Life Insurance. The event will be broadcast live not only on MBC Sports Plus but also across China through CCTV, Zhongxin Network, People’s Daily Online, Shenzhen TV, and Dongfang TV. Xinhua News Agency and People’s Daily Overseas Network will also participate in the broadcast.
