According to the People Power Party on the 12th, the Committee for Accompanying the Vulnerable, chaired by candidate Yoon, consists of 17 members: 8 social activists practicing volunteerism and sharing, and 8 lawmakers who have engaged in legislative activities for the vulnerable. Lawmaker Kim Mi-ae was appointed as the vice-chairperson.
The Committee plans to directly visit vulnerable groups pushed into blind spots due to COVID-19 and listen to voices from the field. Its goal is to diagnose policy and institutional issues and find various solutions. A People Power Party official explained, "We will empathize with the pains of various groups such as the elderly, children, women, people with disabilities, workers, small business owners, youth, single parents, and North Korean defectors, and work to propose alternatives to raise social awareness. We will also discuss problems and prepare improvement measures regarding recent policy blind spots such as COVID-19 vaccine side effects, dating violence, and child abuse."
On-site interviews and meetings with the affected parties are also planned. Reflecting voices from the field, the committee intends to continue policy linkage through legislation and campaign pledges. A People Power Party official emphasized, "Candidate Yoon's steps are, in essence, accompanying the vulnerable."
