A Man in His 20s Arrested for Breaking Glass Window at Leeum Museum of Art at Dawn
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] A man in his 20s who broke the glass window of the Leeum Museum of Art located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, was arrested by the police.
According to the police on the 12th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul arrested and is investigating A (27) on charges of special property damage.
At around 2:10 a.m. that day, A damaged the glass window of the Leeum Museum of Art in Hannam-dong. He swung an iron rod, which was placed to block access, to break three glass panels measuring 2 meters wide and 3 meters high.
The police responded to a report from the museum and arrested A on the spot. Although A was not intoxicated, he reportedly told the police that he does not remember committing the act. Considering that A usually takes medication for anxiety symptoms, the police are investigating the motive and circumstances of the incident.

The Leeum Museum of Art was established by the Samsung Cultural Foundation in 2004. Hong Ra-hee, the wife of the late Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee, served as its director.
