President Moon's State Visit to Australia... Discussions on Mineral Supply Chains and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] On the morning of the 12th, President Moon Jae-in and the First Lady departed through Seoul Airport for a 3-night, 4-day state visit to Australia.
This marks the first state visit by a Korean head of state to Australia in 12 years, since 2009.
On the 13th, President Moon will hold a summit and joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison in the capital city of Canberra. Afterwards, he will visit the War Memorial to lay a wreath at the Korean War participation monument and have dinner with Korean War veterans.
On the 14th, he will move to Sydney to meet with Anthony Albanese, leader of Australia’s opposition Labor Party, and hold a meeting with Australian business leaders to discuss cooperation aimed at the stable establishment of critical mineral supply chains.
