Gwangju Seo-gu Holds Walking Instructor Training and Walking Club Performance Report Meeting
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, held the ‘Walking Leader Training and Walking Club Performance Report Meeting’ on the 10th to promote a culture of walking practice in daily life.
According to Seo-gu on the day, about 50 walking leaders attended the performance report meeting.
The event was conducted in the order of ▲2021 walking project progress report ▲professional instructor training on the theme of walking and communication ▲presentation of actual activity cases by walking leaders.
Seo-gu plans to actively reflect next year’s projects by discussing ways to revitalize walking projects for Seo-gu residents with walking leaders next year.
Seo-gu’s walking project started in 2016 and has so far trained a total of 735 walking leaders, operating a correct walking promotion group and hosting walking festivals, making every effort to spread a culture of walking practice among residents.
In particular, since last year, various non-face-to-face walking challenges have been operated to improve the health of residents whose physical activity has decreased due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, drawing high responses from participants.
A resident who completed the walking leader training this year said, “I learned for the first time through the walking leader training that we need to learn to walk correctly,” adding, “I want to consistently participate in walking club activities to correct my walking posture and inform my neighbors to help create a healthy Seo-gu.”
