Mujugun, Operation of Dementia Safety Franchise Stores

[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju-gun announced on the 10th that it has designated 30 local businesses as 'Dementia Safe Stores' to create a community environment where residents can live without worry about dementia.

According to the Dementia Safety Center at Muju Health and Medical Center, the designated Dementia Safe Stores have staff members who have completed dementia partner training and will participate in future community dementia overcoming activities and dementia awareness improvement.

The Dementia Safe Stores were designated last month, focusing on 30 stores such as pharmacies and beauty salons frequently visited by the elderly in daily life, and they plan to actively participate in community dementia overcoming activities.

These stores will provide attention, consideration, and information for elderly dementia patients, and in case they find wandering elderly individuals, they will promptly report and provide temporary protection.

Accordingly, the Dementia Safety Center has established an organic cooperation system through Dementia Safe Stores by providing early dementia screening guidance, introducing dementia management services, registering Dementia Safe Stores, attaching stickers, and distributing dementia patient response guidebooks.

Muju-gun Dementia Safety Center plans to continuously expand the designation of Dementia Safe Stores to secure a community dementia safety net.

Meanwhile, Muju-gun Dementia Safety Center is striving to overcome dementia in the community through various activities such as early dementia screening for local residents aged 60 and over, support for dementia treatment costs, operation of dementia patient care rest centers, and dementia awareness improvement campaigns.
