Gyeonggi Arts Center to Unveil 'Archive' Containing 30 Years of Performing Arts Materials on the 13th
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Arts Center (President Lee Woo-jong) will make the performing arts materials accumulated over 30 years since its opening available to the residents of Gyeonggi Province through the internet.
Gyeonggi Arts Center announced on the 10th that it will open the 'Gyeonggi Arts Center Archive' on the 13th. To this end, the center has been collecting performing arts-related materials since 2019 and converting and preserving them as digital information.
The archive collects and classifies past performing arts materials of the center and its affiliated group, the Gyeonggi Provincial Arts Troupe, by genre, group, and form. Users can access the archive platform to find and enjoy materials such as videos, documents, images, artifacts, and books. The center applies digital standardization to the materials and provides a viewer to enable users to conveniently appreciate the content.
To access the archive, simply search for 'Gyeonggi Arts Center Archive' in the Naver portal search bar.
The center plans to offer various curated contents for users of the archive platform.
A center official said, "The Gyeonggi Arts Center Archive, opening on the 13th, is the first step in archiving the performing arts materials of the Gyeonggi Arts Center," adding, "In the future, we plan to receive donations of materials from key artists related to the Gyeonggi Provincial Arts Troupe and hold planned exhibitions, among other projects based on the archive platform."
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Arts Center, which opened in 1991 as Gyeonggi Provincial Culture and Arts Center, has led the performing arts culture of Gyeonggi Province for over 30 years by managing resident arts groups (Gyeonggi Provincial Theater Company, Gyeonggi Provincial Dance Company, Gyeonggi Sinawi Orchestra, Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra). It was incorporated as a foundation under the name 'Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation' in 2004 and changed its name to 'Gyeonggi Arts Center' last year.
