Starting Next Year, an App Featuring Military ID Cards Will Be Released
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Starting next year, a mobile app that can verify the identity of Army soldiers will be distributed. Until now, Army soldiers had the inconvenience of having to separately carry a leave pass to receive military welfare benefits while on leave.
According to the Army on the 9th, the Army has decided to distribute the app ‘MilliPass,’ which can replace the ID cards of soldiers, civilian employees, and military families. By installing this app, it will be possible to access the base, as well as issue various certificates such as leave passes and discharge certificates.

Until now, soldiers had to obtain and keep various certificates such as ID cards, leave passes, business trip passes, service verification documents, and salary statements separately. However, starting next year, these can be stored electronically in the MilliPass app like electronic documents. In particular, soldiers on leave can receive benefits at places such as movie theaters, restaurants, and amusement parks where military discounts apply, simply by showing the leave pass or identity verification screen issued through the app, without needing a paper leave pass.
