Gochang-gun Provides 'Double Cropping Direct Payment' to 527 Farms
[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun (Governor Yu Gisang) announced on the 9th that it will pay 570 million won to 527 farms in Gochang to stabilize the income of farmers managing rice paddy utilization (double cropping) and to promote the public value of agriculture and rural areas.
The county finalized the recipients after receiving applications from February to March, verifying eligibility, and conducting on-site compliance inspections.
The rice paddy double cropping direct payment applies to rice paddies used for field farming from October last year to June this year, including food crops such as barley, wheat, oats, potatoes, and forage crops such as grasses.
The payment rate is 500,000 won per hectare.
Governor Yu Gisang said, “I hope the rice paddy double cropping direct payment will help farms struggling due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will do our best to not only stabilize farm income but also create a healthy and vibrant rural community.”
