BC Card Joins Green Consumption ESG Alliance
Providing Eco-Money Points and Electric Bicycles to Customers Practicing Green Consumption with BC Green Card Throughout December
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] BC Card announced on the 9th that it will participate in the 'Green Consumption-ESG Alliance,' which supports the promotion of consumption of eco-friendly certified products.
The Green Consumption-ESG Alliance is a coalition formed by the Ministry of Environment along with 23 companies and public institutions to activate eco-friendly consumption activities and practice ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives such as responding to climate change.
The launch ceremony of the Green Consumption-ESG Alliance, held yesterday at the Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul, was attended by key figures including Han Jeong-ae, Minister of Environment, Lee Jeong-ho, Head of Customer Division (Executive Director) at BC Card, and Kim Jong-hwan, Director of the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute.
Through the launch of this alliance, each company will encourage customers to use eco-label certified products and collaborate organically to ensure a successful transition to the era of green consumption.
BC Card plans to promote green consumption based on consumer benefits such as accumulating Eco Money Points and expand affiliated stores applying Green POS so that more customers can access eco-label products. Additionally, BC Card will support the transition to the green consumption era by communicating with customers through various content about the necessity and expected effects of eco-friendly consumption activities.
Events for customers practicing green consumption will also be held. Until the 31st, among customers who pay with the BC Green Card at green stores, public transportation, or for electric/hydrogen vehicle charging, the top 16,000 customers who meet the conditions will receive up to 150,000 Eco Money Points per person. The accumulated Eco Money Points can be used for BC Top Points or cash conversion, payment of communication fees or public transportation fares, gift certificate exchanges, or eco-friendly donations.
During the same period, among customers who tag the event through My Tag within the BC Card comprehensive financial platform Paybook application (app) and make cumulative payments of 100,000 KRW or more with the BC Green Card, 80 people will be selected by lottery to receive electric bicycles (10 people), air purifiers (20 people), or hotel accommodation vouchers worth 300,000 KRW (50 people).
