[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] The Mokpo City Dance Company will hold a regular performance at 7:30 PM on the 15th at the Mokpo Citizens' Culture and Sports Center.
In this performance, Artistic Director Park Sukyung and the members of the dance company will unite to showcase various Korean dance styles to expand the local dance base.
This performance will reproduce Seungmu, the 27th National Intangible Cultural Property, and Salpuri Dance, the 97th, both held by National Treasure Woo Bong Imaebang from Mokpo, revealing the roots and fundamentals of Mokpo dance.
Additionally, the program includes newly interpreted creative dances using modern techniques, Mokpo Shin (New) Ganggangsullae, a contemporary creative dance performed by male dancers, the creative piece "Aekmaegi Taryeong" featuring an ensemble of Western and traditional Korean instruments, and Namdo Sogo Dance (Kim Pyeongho style) based on Namdo rhythms.
With a proud history of 41 years, the Mokpo City Dance Company’s performance, structured on new genre techniques, can be viewed for free through advance reservation on the Internet Ticket Link platform.
Meanwhile, a COVID-19 vaccination pass is required to attend this performance in accordance with government quarantine guidelines.
