Creation of Waterfront Spaces Around Yeonorang Lighthouse and Aamdaero at Incheon Coastal Pier
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City is creating waterfront spaces in Hang-dong, Jung-gu, and Gojan-dong, Namdong-gu.
The city announced on the 3rd that it has started a project to create coastal walking paths around Yeonorang Lighthouse at Yeonan Pier in Jung-gu and around Aam-daero in Namdong-gu. These waterfront spaces are scheduled to be completed and opened to the public in the second half of next year.
At Yeonan Pier Yeonorang Lighthouse, the breakwater width will be expanded from the existing 1 meter to 3 meters, and a resting area will be installed in the middle to allow visitors to enjoy views of the Incheon Bridge and incoming and outgoing ships.
The tidal flat coastal walking path along Aam-daero will be constructed from Bio Industry Bridge to New Port Bridge. The 1,100-meter breakwater on the upper seawall, which will lose its function due to the Songdo land reclamation, will be removed to expand the waterfront pedestrian path, and glass railings and resting areas will be installed.
Two closed military posts within the section will be demolished, and one will be remodeled.
This project is being promoted as a priority short-term project under the 'Incheon Marine Waterfront City Creation Basic Plan' established by the city in April. Prior to this, the city plans to complete and open four marine waterfront spaces, including near Sorae Haeneum Bridge, in phases by the first half of next year.
The Incheon Marine Waterfront City Creation Basic Plan has the vision of "Connecting Citizens and the Sea, 2030 Incheon Sea Link," aiming to create an open, regenerative, symbiotic, preservative, and international marine waterfront city.
