According to the county on the 3rd, the recent surge in highly pathogenic AI cases in Gyeonggi-do, Chungbuk, and Jeonbuk regions suggests a high risk of outbreaks this winter.
The county has installed one control and base disinfection facility near Jindo Bridge, operating 24 hours a day without holidays, disinfecting all vehicles entering poultry farms before allowing access.
Additionally, quarantine vehicles are used to intensively disinfect the surroundings and access roads of 15 key poultry farms daily, further strengthening AI prevention measures.
Jindo-gun has maintained its status as a clean area with no AI outbreaks in the past five years through systematic quarantine activities, including a dedicated public officer system for poultry farms, a quarantine management day system, daily phone surveillance, and on-site inspections to closely manage all poultry farms.
In particular, drone aerial disinfection has been planned weekly since the 18th to regularly disinfect seven major freshwater lakes and small streams totaling 29 km, including Gunnaeho, Dunjeonho, Jindocheon, and Sopoman, where migratory birds frequently appear.
Over 400 million KRW in customized quarantine funds have been invested to support poultry farms with slaked lime, disinfectants, and immune boosters.
