[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] On the 30th of last month, Muan County in Jeollanam-do held a Muan County History Compilation Meeting at the county office situation room, attended by members of the Muan County History Compilation Committee, to systematically organize and compile all fields including the region's history, culture, and economy.

According to the county on the 2nd, the meeting discussed the results of the third year of the Muan County History project, the compilation structure, table of contents, expected writers, and future compilation schedule.

The Muan County History compilation project is being conducted as a commissioned project, and last April, preliminary preparations for the compilation, such as the establishment of the Muan County History Compilation Committee and the enactment of its operation regulations, were completed.

Muan County plans to jointly carry out the basic plan establishment, data collection, writing, and publication step-by-step by December next year with the commissioned company, History Making Co., Ltd.

Based on accumulated data, reports from local residents, and data survey results linked with the commissioned company and local universities, the newly compiled Muan County History, researched and verified by a team of experts, will consist of a total of five volumes covering Muan's history, culture, society, notable figures, and general status.

County Governor Kim San said, “As this is the first Muan County History compilation in 25 years, I hope that historical facts that have not been revealed or have only been passed down orally due to ideological conflicts after liberation will be reflected,” and added, “I ask the compilation committee members to actively participate to deliver a high-quality Muan County History to our descendants.”
