President Moon: "Significantly Strengthen Digital Education to Meet Corporate Demand" (Comprehensive)
Attended the 'Digital Korea' Event... "Our Youth Are the Leading Force of Digital Innovation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 2nd, President Moon Jae-in stated at the 'Digital Korea' event, "Currently, companies on the ground are complaining about the shortage of software specialists such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud," and added, "We will significantly strengthen talent development programs and digital education that respond to the demand of companies and provide good jobs for young people."
President Moon said, "Our youth are both beneficiaries of digital technology and the main drivers of digital innovation," and added, "Your challenges have become the growth engine that sparked the 'second venture boom.'"
President Moon explained, "Thanks to this, we were able to record the highest ever ICT exports this year. Achievements such as ranking first in the OECD digital government evaluation, first in the World Economic Forum ICT adoption, and first in the Bloomberg Innovation Index were all results created together through innovation and challenge."
President Moon said, "The government will continuously promote digital innovation across all economic and social sectors, including smart cities, smart factories, smart farms, telemedicine, and smart banking."
President Moon pledged, "We will utilize abundant 'data dams' to make high-quality data available in various fields, and achieve smart safety management and autonomous driving foundations through the digitalization of infrastructure such as roads and railways."
President Moon expressed hope, "Digital innovation is for people. When all citizens enjoy digital benefits without gaps, a people-centered inclusive digital world will be created."
President Moon said, "The government will enact the Digital Inclusion Act to expand digital access for vulnerable groups and regions, ensuring that no one is excluded from digital benefits."
Meanwhile, at the event, an opening performance symbolizing the meeting of past and present was held, featuring the voices of the late Kim Hyun-sik and his junior Lee Seok-hoon (SG Wannabe), among other senior and junior singers.
President Moon said, "Seeing the stage where the voices of singer Kim Hyun-sik, recreated by artificial intelligence, and Lee Seok-hoon harmonized, I feel deeply moved," and evaluated, "Our youth vividly realized the late singer's voice with innovative digital technology, creating a stage that transcends time and space. We have encountered a new world that was unimaginable in the past."
