Dongshin University Hosts the 3rd Bio-Pharmaceutical Academic Festival

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Natural Product Bio-Pharmaceutical Specialized Workforce Training Project Group at Dongshin University (Director Park Kyung-mok, Professor of Pharmaceutical Engineering) announced on the 1st that it held the "3rd Bio-Pharmaceutical Academic Festival" online in a non-face-to-face format.
About 250 students from the Department of Food and Nutrition, Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering, and Department of Herbal Medicine Industry participated online in the academic festival.
Dongshin University President Choi Il, Industry-Academia Cooperation Group Director Choi Hyo-seung, congratulatory speeches from family company representatives, congratulatory videos from graduates, and the 2021 performance presentation were followed by a special lecture by Kwak Won-jae, Director of the Biopharmaceutical Research Center at Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency, on the topic "Employment Paths and Industry Trends in the Natural Product Bio-Pharmaceutical Field."
The project group also exhibited and shared online 16 achievements directly developed by students through regular courses and extracurricular programs, including "Quality Characteristic Evaluation of Lotus Root Tteokgalbi with Different Mixed Meat Compositions" (Department of Food and Nutrition), "Research on Metformin-Containing Tablets" (Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering), and "Development of a Single Agent Using Linagliptin" (Department of Herbal Medicine Industry).
Among these, three teams awarded the Bio-Pharmaceutical Academic Award and three teams awarded the Bio-Pharmaceutical Excellence Award gave real-time presentations.
The Natural Product Bio-Pharmaceutical Specialized Workforce Training Project Group at Dongshin University has been operating for three years since being selected for the "2019 Jeonnam Province Industry-Academia Cooperation Employment Package Course," receiving an annual support of 200 million KRW.
To cultivate customized talent for companies in the natural product bio-pharmaceutical field, it has established and operated interdisciplinary majors, supports various extracurricular programs focused on certification acquisition and fieldwork, and enhances students' employment capabilities.
Project Group Director Park Kyung-mok said, "We will strive to train specialized personnel who will create bio-pharmaceutical products using natural products from Jeonnam Province," and added, "We hope that they will find employment in local companies and lead the economic development of the region."
