Prosecutors Arrest and Indict a Man in His 50s for Stalking a Celebrity for Over Two Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 50s who stalked a celebrity for over two years has been indicted while in custody.
The Criminal Division 5 of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jeong Won-du) announced on the 30th that B (53), who stalked celebrity A for a long period, has been indicted in custody on charges including violation of the Information and Communications Network Act and trespassing.
B is accused of violating the Information and Communications Network Act by sending 270 text messages that caused fear to A from May 2019 to April this year, and sending KakaoTalk messages 9 times from August to October last year. He also left 1,140 memo-style messages by transferring money to A's account.
In August last year, B even trespassed into A's residence and caused a disturbance. In October of the same year, he posted false information damaging A's reputation 12 times on Naver's comment board.
