Gwangju Seo-gu 'Non-face-to-face Fitness Improvement Class' Successfully Concluded
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 30th that it successfully concluded the non-face-to-face fitness improvement class, ‘Home Training In House’.
‘Home Training In House’ is a non-face-to-face exercise program using the Zoom application, where exercise experts from the Gwangju Seo-gu Fitness Certification Center teach stretching, aerobic, and strength exercises using small equipment.
It was conducted in a way that allowed real-time video communication with participants to correct exercise postures, with 206 people participating.
Participants were lent small exercise equipment such as gym balls, resistance bands, and yoga mats, and the effect was enhanced by assessing participants’ fitness levels in advance through essential fitness measurements for each life cycle stage from ‘National Fitness 100’.
Before and after the program, fitness measurements such as flexibility and cardiopulmonary endurance, as well as health assessments unique to the Seo-gu Fitness Certification Center, were conducted to compare pre- and post-data and verify how effective the exercise program was.
As a result, participants’ fitness improved by an average of 6.6%, and body fat percentage reduction also showed an average improvement of 3.1%.
In particular, the 5th session of ‘Home Training In House,’ which completed the post-test this time, is receiving praise for complementing the lacking fitness management part in the ‘AI·IOT-based Senior Health Management’ project and promoting residents’ fitness improvement.
A Seo-gu official said, “Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the rate of physical activity practice has decreased, making non-face-to-face exercise programs essential for residents’ health management. We will do our best to prepare the program so that all participants can be satisfied next year as well, and we ask for your interest and participation.”
