Chonnam National University Hosts Liberal Arts Education Forum for Gwangju-Jeonnam Region
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Education Innovation Headquarters at Chonnam National University (Head Cha Seong-hyun) announced on the 29th that it will hold a liberal arts education forum for the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions via online real-time video conference (Zoom) from 2 PM on the 30th.
The forum, themed "The Direction and Tasks of Liberal Arts Education for Regional Coexistence in the New Normal Era," will share the current status and development directions of liberal arts education operations among universities in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, and explore future-oriented liberal arts curriculum directions for regional coexistence.
At this forum, Lee Bo-kyung, Director of the Korea Institute for Liberal Arts and Basic Education, will deliver a keynote speech discussing the necessity of changes in university education to proactively respond to rapidly changing society and educational environments, as well as the directions and tasks of liberal arts education. Additionally, Chosun University, Suncheon National University, and Chonnam National University will share their respective liberal arts education cases, followed by a comprehensive discussion among the chairperson, keynote speaker, case presenters, and forum participants.

Head Cha Seong-hyun stated, "Through this forum, we will seek development plans for leading liberal arts education in the era and foster a communication platform that can activate networks among universities in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions."
