Yongin City to Establish Basic Water Management Plan by the End of Next Year
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will establish the 1st Integrated Water Management Basic Plan (2023?2032) by the end of next year.
The Integrated Water Management Basic Plan is a mid- to long-term plan that encompasses water-related policies previously divided by departments.
To this end, Yongin City will conduct a research project for establishing the Integrated Water Management Basic Plan from January to October next year, investing 160 million KRW of city funds.
Based on the research results, the basic plan is scheduled to be finalized in December next year.
On the same day, the city launched the Integrated Water Management Committee, composed of 20 experts including university professors and environmental groups, and held its first meeting.
The Integrated Water Management Committee is an organization that deliberates and advises on major water-related policies, including the Integrated Water Management Basic Plan.

Jung Kyu-soo, the 2nd Deputy Mayor of Yongin City, said, "We expect the Integrated Water Management Committee to serve as a stepping stone in establishing a resident-participatory governance," and urged, "Let us work together in water resource management so that citizens can enjoy a clean water environment."
