Hwang Hyun-sik's LG Uplus, Small-scale Organizational Restructuring... Consumer Division Divided into 4 Groups
2nd Year CEO Hwang Hyun-sik's Leadership
Organizational Restructuring Scale Smaller Than Previous Years
Consumer Division Further Segmented... Execution Speed Increased
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Entering the second year under CEO Hwang Hyun-sik, LG Uplus has carried out a downsized organizational restructuring compared to previous years, subdividing the Consumer Division. The Consumer Division, led by Vice President Jung Soo-heon, has been divided into a total of four groups to enhance expertise and accelerate business execution.
LG Uplus announced on the 26th that it had implemented the 2022 organizational restructuring based on these details. While maintaining the overall business division structure, new detailed business groups were established.
The Consumer Division was reorganized into the Consumer Business Group and Consumer Service Group, resulting in a total of four groups including the Marketing Group and Digital Commerce Business Group. The bifurcation of the Consumer Business and Service Groups aims to continuously strengthen the qualitative growth of consumer business and differentiate services. A new Digital Commerce Business Group, which integrates digital-related organizations under the Consumer Division, was also established. The Digital Commerce Business Group provides new digital customer experiences centered on the MZ generation. Vice President Jung Soo-heon, appointed in July this year, will continue to lead the Consumer Division.
The Technology Division has been renamed as the CTO Office. The CTO plans to strengthen agile service development and support for business organizations through innovation in development methods to more quickly reflect customer needs. Former Technology Development Group Head Executive Director Lee Sang-yeop will lead the organization as CTO. In addition, the Enterprise Division and NW Division remain unchanged. Vice President Choi Taek-jin continues as head of the Enterprise Division, and Executive Director Kwon Jun-hyuk remains as head of the NW Division.
